Frankenstein: Across the Frozen Wastes Woven Tapestry & Throw

Step into the bleak world of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein with the Across the Frozen Wastes Woven Tapestry & Throw, featuring one of my original illustrations created for my fully illustrated edition of the gothic classic.

A solitary figure disappears into an endless landscape of broken ice beneath a vast, turbulent sky. Rendered in stark black and aged cream, the scene captures the isolation, scale and desolation at the heart of Shelley’s story.

Originally created as part of my visual interpretation of Frankenstein, the illustration has now been transformed from the pages of the novel into an oversized piece of woven textile art.

Rather than simply being printed onto fabric, the artwork is recreated using coloured woven cotton threads. The texture of the weave works beautifully with my woodcut and traditional printmaking-inspired style, giving the finished piece the appearance of an old illustrated textile.

Once your order is placed, the illustration is woven into your chosen size, creating a substantial piece of textile art made specifically for its new home.

These tapestries are produced in the USA, making them particularly convenient for my US collectors. UK and international orders are absolutely welcome too, but please allow a little extra time for your finished tapestry to make its journey across the Atlantic.

Because the artwork is woven rather than traditionally printed, small variations in colour and fine detail are a natural part of the process. Your finished piece may therefore vary slightly from digital mockups.

🖤 CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Machine wash cold at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle cycle using mild detergent. Tumble dry on low heat. Use non-chlorine bleach only when required.
